Mira & Theo, in 740 sq ft.
We're a writer and a woodworker working out of a 740 sq ft rental in Lisbon. Peace Love Decor is our weekly notebook — recipes for rooms, mostly. No sponsored shelf-styling, no maximalist pile-ons. Just slower, softer homes.
Why we publish
We grew up in households that mended things. A wobbly chair leg got glued, not replaced. A hand-me-down lamp got a new shade and stayed for thirty years. That instinct — keep, repair, compose — is the lens we apply to every essay here.
We don't review products. We don't accept payola. When we recommend a tool or a paint, it's because we used it on our own walls, ate breakfast next to it, lived with it for at least one season. If something later disappoints, we update the piece and say so.
The writing is slow on purpose. One long essay a week, dropped Sunday morning. If a piece isn't ready, it waits. We'd rather publish nothing than publish thin.
How we work
-
Field-test
Every technique we publish has been done in our own apartment first. Twice, when we can.
-
Photographs
All shot in our own light, on our own film and digital. No lifestyle shoots. No fake plants.
-
Sourcing
Independent shops, vintage markets, our own workshop. We name the small businesses we buy from.
-
Affiliate links
Disclosed clearly on every essay that has them. See our disclaimer.
